Rattlesnake Hills AVA

Our story

In 2005, we purchased 10 acres of established wine grapes in Washington’s Rattlesnake Hills AVA, part of the renowned Yakima Valley. Bosma Estate Vineyards was born.

A decade later, we expanded three miles up the road, carving out 50 more acres framed by native sagebrush and rugged contours. That site became Diamondback Ridge Vineyard; where every vine is grown with winemakers in mind.

Our site & layout

The Diamondback Ridge vineyard sits at 1,410 feet and features a series of east- and west-facing fingers—natural contours that let us plant varietals where they’ll get the right amount of morning or afternoon sun.

We use both traditional north–south row alignment and a 22° off of true North to maximize sunlight exposure and airflow. These site-specific choices create balance and concentration in the fruit.

Our farming practices

Strategic spacing

Vines are spaced at 8×5 feet for lower yields per vine and better overall quality.

Careful hand tending

Our team prunes, leafs, and harvests by hand to ensure clean, evenly ripened fruit.

Smart water management

The well-drained soils help us manage water carefully, supporting long-term vineyard health without over-irrigation.

Our varietals

We specialize in premium wine grapes for boutique winemakers, with a focus on clonal diversity.

Take our Cabernet Sauvignon blocks—they feature six clones (4, 6, 7, 8, 15, and 33), giving you the freedom to craft distinctive blends or showcase a single clone’s character.
